For the Upstate Chapter and any other Chapters(Atlanta, Midlands, Augusta, etc): will meet just off I-77, exit 42 in Troutman, NC at the Wilco gas station/truck stop at 11:00 a.m. If you are not able to make the ride together, please time your travel to be at exit 42 NO LATER THAN 11:15 a.m. or at John's (address in message below) NO LATER THAN 12:00 noon. There should be enough time to fill up, bathroom breaks, etc. We will leave the truck stop at 11:20 a.m. SHARP for the 30 minute drive to John's.
At John's: Once we arrive and park, we will proceed to one of John's garages where lunch will be served. Afterward, the plan is to have a brief talk about our (Modern) Mopars. Afterward, we will split into groups to view his Modern Mopar collection and others to view his museum of classic Mopars, but we will ALL get to see both collections. The actual number per group, etc will be explained after lunch.
Things to remember: I know we all realize how valuable our cars are to each of us. We need to be VERY respectful of John's collections as some are VERY rare but ALL are valuable to him. Respect is the key here and he has expressed having more visits to his place in the future for further talks on modern and classic Mopars. So, let's all be very respectful regarding John's collections, property, time and opening up his place for us to visit and enjoy.

Mrs. KRPTNYT 10-25-2011, 06:53 PM We're bummed that we won't be able to make this trip! :(
Mini-krptnyt's football coach scheduled a make-up game for them on that Saturday - this will also be their final game of the season
(:woohoo: ) and as "team mom" and Dan being one of the Asst. Coach's, it's important that we're there.
Thanks again, Tony & Beth, for the generous invite!! .. Rain check?
~ Cathie
We hate you guys won't make it either but we will most likely be visiting John's again. And yes, it goes without saying, the invite stands!!!

ANOTHER UPDATE.....ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!
The day of our visit:In organizing this visit with John, he will not take any money from DSM for the visit nor the lunch. I am going to purchase a gift for John and his family on behalf of DSM. I will take monetary donations of any amount through paypal or the day of the event.
Obviously, we want to keep this a secret until the time we hand over the card, so if you to donate the day of the visit, please do so as discreetly as possible.
If you choose to to donate through PayPal, please click "send money to friends and family". If you choose out of your bank account, there will NOT be any fees. This way, I won't pay any fees on my end either. My PayPal address is: TQueen6@carolina.rr.com (TQueen6@carolina.rr.com)
UPDATED DIRECTIONS: John's place is out in the country so all the roads are not the best, are narrow and sometimes rough, along with several are stone covered. I have tried my best to map out the best directions to avoid the stone roads and the worse of the paved roads. The roads I have listed below are the best, although still rough, I have no problems scraping with my lowered SRT Chally. Please read what I have below and if anyone has questions, PLEASE pm me here for additional help:
Coming from the Raleigh/Winston-Salem areas:
I-40 west to exit 162, turn left onto US 64W/Mocksville Hwy. Go 1.7 miles and turn left onto Woodleaf/Cool Springs Road. Travel 2.4 miles and turn right onto Chenault Road; go 1.4 miles and turn left onto Chenault Road again. Travel 1.8 miles and turn left (Rary Road only goes to the left) onto Rary Road. John's drive is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. From Raleigh, this route should take you approximately 2 hrs and 30 minutes. There are shorter routes but you will take those at your own risk.
Coming from the Charlotte area/I-77:
The Upstate, GA and most of the Charlotte/KTC Chapter members will be taking this route.
I-77 north to exit 42, turn left, go under I-77 and a Stop and Save Gas station is on the right. We'll then get back on I-77 and go north to exit 49-A (US 70 east towards Salisbury). Travel 8.3 miles to Old US 70/Third Creek Church Road, turn left. 3rd Creek Church Rd is curvey and does make a 90* turn to the right; remain on 3rd Creek Church Rd for a total of 1.6 miles. Travel to Chenault Rd, turn left. Travel 2 miles on Chenault Rd to Rary Road (only goes to the left), turn left. John's drive is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. From the meeting place (exit 42 off I-77), this route should take approximately 31 minutes. There are shorter routes by 5 or so minutes but you will take those at your own risk.
Coming from the Salisbury area (NOT meeting at exit 42 on I-77 with the other Chapters):
For those not able to travel with the other Chapters from the meeting place on I-77, please follow US 70 west through Salisbury to just after Cleveland, NC. Turn right on Old US 70/Third Creek Church Road. 3rd Creek Church Rd is curvey and makes a 90* turn to the right, remain on 3rd Creek Church Rd for a total of 1.6 miles. Travel to Chenault Rd, turn left. Travel 2 miles on Chenault Rd to Rary Road (only goes to the left), turn left. John's drive is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. From Salisbury, this route should take you approximately 32 minutes. There are shorter routes by 5 or so minutes but you will take those at your own risk.

EVERYONE - please bring as many car show chairs as possible. John has plenty of room but needs chairs. If everyone brings a chair, there should be plenty of seating for all.
Thank you!!!
SIX (6) more days!! We have 29 cars and 58 people attending!!! Please remember to be ON TIME and bring as many folding lawn/soccer/car show chairs as possible.
Thanks and see y'all Saturday!!!!
Pooske 10-31-2011, 02:27 AM Excuse me if I am missing something but where are we meeting up at, I see information for picking up the Upstate folks, where would I meet to join the convoy for the ride in?
Mrs. KRPTNYT 10-31-2011, 11:50 AM If we had gone we probably would hooked up with everyone in Spartanburg?? (I-20 to I-26) Otherwise, we would've back tracked a good ways. But, that's a guess! Hopefully you can meet up sooner ...
Excuse me if I am missing something but where are we meeting up at, I see information for picking up the Upstate folks, where would I meet to join the convoy for the ride in?
Eric - I am assuming you (and whomever else from GA) would meet up with the Upstate folks. I apologize for not organizing a meet place for you guys too but again, assumed you would come in with them.
Eric - please see this thread for the meeting times and places of the Upstate peeps.....

OK, we have just a little over three (3) days until this great event!!! Please read over the following reminders and ASK QUESTIONS if there is something you don't understand or need more info about:
Please determine if you are meeting a group somewhere and make travels plans to be on time. If you are driving directly to John's on your own, PLEASE ask me for any detailed directions
Please bring as many folding, soccer game, car show chairs as you can. John will have tables but not enough seating for all of us
If you are interested and ABLE to donate towards the gift certificate for John and his family, please see me but be discreet. No pressure to donate and any amount is acceptable, none too small or too large
Please remember this is John's home; we NEED to be respectful of his property, his family and him
We will be breaking into groups and viewing the collections at different times. This is John's request, so please respect his request
Right now, the weather is to be sunny and 57*F. If this holds true, we should be able to park at John's home. If it does rain or if previous rain has made the property too wet, we will be parking down the road at John's business and there will be shuttles to transport everyone back and forth.
So, we have 28 vehicles and 57 people attending! This is GREAT!! I want to thank everyone for taking the time to make this trip!!!
Mrs. KRPTNYT 11-04-2011, 02:35 PM Pooske and Big Daddy -- have a great ride tomorrow up to John Jancic's and be safe!
GTG soon! Maybe something with the families?
Last update - I promise!!!
We are just hours away from this great event! I spoke with John a few times today and due to the large amount of rain he got at his place last night and today, we will be parking down the road from his house in his business parking lot, Mid State Metals.
It is still supposed to be sunny and 55F tomorrow so walking the distance (about 1/2 mile) won't be too much of an issue. Otherwise, there will be shuttles going back and forth before and afterward. John will have the drive blocked off to his house with signs where to park.
So, I can't wait to see y'all tomorrow! You won't be disappointed in John's collections nor his hospitality!! PLEASE drive safe!!!
