No joke. I looked up the cost of a replacement since I'm not sure if a shop will be able to patch it since it's plastic...damn thing costs almost $600 unpainted!

Thankfully the damage is only to the bumper cover. The lights, grill, etc... weren't touched. If I have to replace the bumper cover though that means I lose my nose badge that I finally got...such a pita.

You should be able to get the nose badge transfered over with 3m tape. Is the one you got held by tape or clips?

3M adhesive backing. I'm honestly not even going to think about it until I get it appraised at a body shop. I just need to find one in my area as it appears where I went after the guy hit me last year is closed.

Sorry to see that man! I feel your pain though, I found a place on one of my rear doors where someone must have opened there's into mine. Small dent and chipped the paint all the way to the metal. Hope you can get it fixed up soon.

The body shop attached to that dealer is Marietta Collision (unless I'm mistaken), which appears to be closed. That's where I got my car fixed after the accident last year. I drove by Fri and it looked empty.

Yea, Marietta Collision was two buildings North of the dealer. That's where I go to get my maintenance done though. I gotta get my oil changed anyways so I'll make a trip up there this week and see about getting an appraisal.

Man that sucks donkey balls. This is why I refuse to take my Bee to places like Wal Mart. Anyplace else, I'll spend a good ten minutes scoping out the parking spot that is least susceptible to getting a ding. This generally means I park about 300 yards from wherever I'm headed.

But there's no accounting for stupid. Or the jackass who insists on parking a knife blade away from a quarter panel.

I freely admit, when I owned a Firebird Formula, I personally damaged two vehicles for doing damage to me. One got a busted car phone antenna for parking too close and dinging a door. The other got his door kicked in. Anyone scratches the Bee, they'll get their tires slit and lights punched out.

Insurance came out and appraised the damage (it was a little less than the dealer, but the guy said they'll honor USAA's rates).

I'll be calling up the guy at the dealer tomorrow to set up a time. Hopefully I can have them order the bumper, and bring my car in when it arrives...be in and out in a day!

The guy said 2-3 days unless there was structural damage behind the bumper cover. I doubt there is based on the damage of the cover unless whoever hit me had some Mad Max style bumpers.

Not yet. I did all the body shop and rental stuff today.

My Uninsured Motorist claim was just approved! I now no longer have to pay the deductible!!
