View Full Version : Mopars at the Marina in Long Beach, MS Oct. 6
Viper Truck 09-06-2011, 12:03 AM This is a great event, I would like our Chapter to participate, as well as all surrounding Chapters. I went last year and had a great time. Need some input here... I would like us to meet somewhere in Long Beach and then Cruise to the event together so we can park together. They say the start time is 1pm but I know from last year we would need to get there earlier than that! Shoot me your ideas. This is the web site with all the info. http://www.killermopars.com/
AmishCrackDealer 09-06-2011, 04:11 AM is this during cruisin the coast?
Viper Truck 09-06-2011, 04:38 AM Yes, it is during the same week. This may be a guess but I think they hold it during that week for two reasons. One, the most obvious, the draw of all the Mopars that do come for Cruisn' the Coast. Two, this event is open to "All" Mopars no matter the year of your car or truck. So those of us that can't enter Cruisn' the Coast because our cars are to "new", we can show them here.
Igolo 09-06-2011, 01:27 PM A few of us went last year and had a great time!! There were plenty of awesome rides!! I'll have to see if I can make it again this year!!

dodgetime 09-07-2011, 04:17 AM saw some pics from last years, nice cars. I was on my way there and got all hosed up in traffic stopped still heading west on Pass rd. not far from home, couldn't idle any longer (car only 2mos old and still sporting the 215 tstat) East bound lanes empty so ued back to the house. Luck of the draw Try again, maybe parachute in. lol probably a chebbie broke down lol

Viper Truck 09-09-2011, 03:56 AM Yep, soon as I get a good location for us to meet up, I'll post it here.
Viper Truck 09-09-2011, 07:48 PM I think DSM members who are going to be there can help out with this.
"We were looking for a few desserts/sweets such as cookies and stuff even if it from the local Walmart. Want to continue that picnic atmosphere. Would love for you to advertise your club that day, it is part of what we are doing this for to spread the word on what clubs and groups and events on in the area. Look forward to meeting you and your members there." Eric Keller
AmishCrackDealer 09-10-2011, 01:18 AM awesome. We need to make mopar cookies... my wife and daughter the pastry chefs might be able to hook us up with something. ;)

Thanks.
dodgetime 09-11-2011, 04:00 PM certainly willing to kick-in also, hope to make this cruisin, the size of the cruisin coast has multiplied 10's fold since the first one, getting around is a crap shoot, timing is key, great fun now that all my time is mine but when I was working, avoidance was the name of the game to minimize response time. I live close to the VA and Hiller so I usually walk there and see it all.
AmishCrackDealer 09-11-2011, 07:06 PM I'm putting in for a vacation day that day too. Doctors appt that morning then cruising the coast - woohoo!!!
Sandy's game too - taking off as well. Gonna bring chairs and a cooler this time. What time does it start and what time should we plan to get there?
Garfield411 09-16-2011, 01:42 AM I hate to miss this show, but I will be in Dallas that whole week for work.

That's ok. We understand. I'm gonna take lots of pictures!!! Maybe at the next one. Be safe out there.
Viper Truck 09-21-2011, 05:54 AM Jay made a good suggestion of meeting at the "Prime Outlet Mall" here in Gulfport before our drive down to "Mopars at the Marnia" in Long Beach. I was thinking of getting there for 10:00am. There is a food court there to eat lunch, use the restroom,... Then, once we get finished we can drive to Long Beach as a group. What do you think?
AmishCrackDealer 09-21-2011, 07:10 AM 10 am meet at the outlet mall? that could be do-able. Whats it cost to enter and is there a sign up sheet or anything? This a cruise-in thing or actual show - cant recall. haha too excited about just going forgot what type of thing it is. haha

Viper Truck 10-02-2011, 11:29 AM Rode around today, went down to Bay St. Louis and back... a few mopars out there... some guy in a newer Ram was towing a trailer with a Superbird emblem on it... Going to cruise again tomorrow - any of y'all going to be out???I will be going to the Hardy Court Cruise-in. I don't know if they will let me park with the cruisers like last year. They are getting more strict about this 25 year rule. :4-dontknow: But, even if I can't I'm still going to check out the cars and have a good time.

Garfield411 10-09-2011, 03:16 AM I will be going to the Hardy Court Cruise-in. I don't know if they will let me park with the cruisers like last year. I got back into town late last night. Jan and I went to down town Bay St Louis today. They must not be that strict, I saw a couple of 2011 and 2012 Shelby GT 500's in the show. I had asked back in May and was sent a short, snobby e-mail about the by laws and that the Crusin the Coast Board had decided not to allow the new cars, however nice they may be to register and be shown at Crusin the Coast. The car had to be 25 years old or older. So I did not register.
AmishCrackDealer 10-09-2011, 01:27 PM yeah - i saw a lot of that too. mostly corvettes and mustangs - but certainly not pre '85 era.
Was pleased to see a lot more rat-rods. I like them because they are unique and creative - no boundaries to what you can use to make your car work or look better. Paint is an option - haha.
