2012 Mopar Week - Mopars at the Beach is coming to Myrtle Beach, SC August 6-12, 2012. Some of the Mopar Week event will include events at Hard Rock Cafe, Hooters, Cooters, Myrtle Beach Speedway, Wheels of Yesteryears, Darlington Dragway and other places in & around the MB area. Yes, we need to come together and show up with as many DSM members as possible.

yeah it would be great to have some people on the street down there, but i was planning on making a few calls here this week myself to see what we can get

if we want a big turn out down there, we need to get crack-a-lackin!!!

This sounds like a fun trip! :smileup: The sponsor hotel is a bit steep, so would be good to get some more quotes from area hotels.

Most motels will have their prime rates that time of the year. Count us in on coming down part of the week.

I might make it for the week....Also a 4 bedroom rental house is about 2,000 a week if 4 couples go in it will run 500 for the week or 75 a night and all the savings from being able to cook and grill at the house...just a thought

all very good points, and what needs to happen, looks like, is some of us need to get together and decide what dates we want DSM to be there for, where we want to stay and what type of hotel we want to stay in, and how much we all will be comfortable paying per night. i'm sure the more people that go, the cheaper the rate will be

i was thinking of going down on Wednesday the 8th to check in. there is a race event that day at the Myrtle Beach Speedway from 2-8 but then there is a cruise-in at Wheels of Yesteryear that starts at 8 that we could all make

Thursday is an event at the Darlington Dragway that includes a ride-in from Myrtle beginning at 2pm. its an hour and a half drive to Darlington, what a sight that will be, all those Mopars driving into Darlington at the same time!!

Friday is cruise-in at Cooters and the Cooters girls will be doing car washes with all net proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project

Saturday will end the week with a classic & modern car show, registration from 9-1, judging starts at 2 and awards begin at 5

so, how does this sound to everyone? that would be four nights there. im flexible and we should all have our say as to when we want to go and for how long

so what say you??

That sounds good to us, Jerry! I like the idea of finding a house to rent, splitting the costs and saving on food bills.

I am working on some more hotels.

Jerry--we wouldn't be able to go until Friday and leave on Sunday. But we can still have fun! :smileup:

We have posted several hotels this week on the Mopar Week website, www.moparsatthebeach.com (http://www.moparsatthebeach.com/), that are offering 10-20% off rates. Still waiting a few more to respond. I found that the Red Roof Inn on South Kings Hwy (US 17) near the airport may be the cheapest.
