What dealer's service departments are y'all using around Charlotte and how are they treating you and your car? I had a terrible experience with the Salisbury service department and not such a good one with the one in Concord but it's been a few years ago, 2005 and 2006.

I use the one in Gastonia NC, so that would be too far for you, but they do a pretty good job! but they know me well enough to know I check behind them! what was your experience? maybe you should try them again, is that where you bought the car?

We bought the car at State Line in SC. The dealership here in Salisbury worked on the PT Cruiser that I had. Took it in for an oil change, inspection to have the tires rotated and balanced etc. They got the backs tires rotated to the front and then noticed that I had belts showing through on the inside edge of one of the front tires. The car had 17 K miles on it and they wouldn't warranty the tires. They tried to charge me for a full rotate and balance on top of putting on the new tires. They got grease all over the floor and acted all huffy when I pointed it out.
Of course I had them do a front and rear alignment on the car when they put the new tires on. After I payed I asked them for the print out from the alignment since it wasn't with the receipt. When I looked at the before and after there was clearly alignment issues STILL. When I pointed that out that's when they told me that they had ordered parts and I had to bring the car back in. They tried to charge me for the full rotate and balance as well.
Next time I needed something done to the car I took it to the dealership in Concord. There was something wrong with the rear end. I can't remember what it was now but a common problem with the PTs. They greased it all up with a heavy white grease told me it was fixed and sent me on my way. The next day I had to go to SC on business and it poured down rain all the way there. That washed all their grease off and the rear end started making noise again. Back to the service department I go. This time they send me home because they have to order parts. A week later I'm back in Concord taking more time off from work and they finally got it fixed that time, I guess. That's when I put it up for sale with 32 K on it. It was four years old.
We almost didn't buy the Challenger because of the poor service at the local dealerships. We'll do most stuff ourselves and make sure to keep detailed records but sooner or later it's going to have to go in somewhere.
I wonder if the service department in Lexington is worth a hoot.

OoooooooooooooooH, could I tell you stories! But we bought a used magnum from a private party, ran perfect for three months, then all He!! broke loose... all kind so elect. issues... Drove to Gerry Wood... they called and said it needs a new computer FIRST, I said, Why would that be if that one is already showing you the codes. The said this is a Louisanna Flood car and we have to start with that! (Told the wife, this doesn't sound right to me ~ she INSISTED on getting her car fixed) Ok computer, then they called and said car is NOT Worth fixing.... So I went to pick up the car and they said it's out back and WILL NOT START..... R U KIDDING? ~ I DROVE IT HERE!!! Anyhow after seveal attempts to get it fixed at different places, I was told the M & L in Lexington is a fantastic repair facility.... I called, had it towed up there, they got in on Monday and it was repairded and brought it home Tuesday. Since then we have, however, had more problems, not the same as the first... keep takin it back and repaired again. It is NOW running Great!!! I wll not let anyone else but THIS MECHANIC work on any of our cars!
He's been GREAT! Name is Jackie Horn! Hope this helps!!!!!!!!

So FAR... all good experiences... we had had to take The DEMON car there three times though for different problems because of electrical issues... I guess this should be expected being a FLOOD CAR! Just seen this on it today ~ FINALLY!
Not sure how many of these are the "TOWED" MILES though ~ LOL

Good luck with getting it fixed up. I'm so relieved to know that there is a serviced department close by that will respect our car and that has a technician that does good work. Now I won't be near as anxious when we do have to finally take it in.
