So far I have to say I am impressed. I installed the tstat a few days ago and left the fan setting at stock. The car cruised down the road at mid to high 180's and would hit 195-200 going slow or at idle. I adjusted the fan settings today and it made a world of difference. Cruising temp is mid 170's and the best part:
I went to pick my son up from school this afternoon and sat at idle for over 15 minutes with the a/c on high. The outside air temp showed 106 while sitting on the asphalt with no air movement and bumper to bumper cars. Engine temp hit 191 at the hottest and probably averaged 188 or so. As soon as we started moving down the road it was at low 180's and stayed there for the rest of the ride home.
It would appear as though heat soak will be much less of an issue at the track which means more passes each night:w00t:
I would recommend this to everyone here. A great mod for $15 and 30 minutes of work.
