View Full Version : Do You have a Catch Can
bigsnake 08-30-2009, 10:05 PM If not I highly recommend getting one if you have a hemi in your Mopar.
Basically here's what it does.
It "catches" the atomized oil droplets that are in the positive crankcase ventilation airflow coming from the crankcase via the pcv valve into the intake. The purpose of the pcv system is to remove that flow from escaping into the atmosphere and instead to burn it in the engine. (Old engines had crankcase "breather" caps, venting out into the atmosphere).
The catch can captures the oil from that flow and stores it in the can (to be dumped every oil change along with the other old oil).
Keeps gunk out of the intake manifold without harming the environment!

erniecon 08-31-2009, 12:32 AM I have one too.
SOBeeAndy 08-31-2009, 01:42 AM I got mine installed on July 3rd at BMC. I went with the Moroso version as it has a release valve that lets you drain it without having to unscrew it like some other versions. Either way your may work, it is a great mod to do to your ride...
RedInfierno 08-31-2009, 02:17 AM i want one!... is there any other choice from billet tech?
bigsnake 08-31-2009, 12:39 PM BMC sells the Moroso and of course BT on their model. Both have their own benefits as the Moroso has a valve to dump oil but the BT version can go longer before emptying (it's a screw off model) and they come in colors. It's a personal choice thing.
Cheftank 08-31-2009, 12:48 PM Its a "must have" for us turbo guys.

Yes you do. It prevents this from getting into your intake.

ecNick 09-02-2009, 06:37 PM I plan on getting one, but I hear it doesn't work with the C&L Intake. Also, I have an '08, so I can't use the fuse box mount :(.
bigsnake 09-02-2009, 07:18 PM There has to be some kind of adapter so you can mount it with the C&L intake.
Check with the guy's at Billet Tech. Tel. 1-561-582-6171

weezerzeke 09-03-2009, 04:24 AM I've had one for quite awhile, but it isn't installed yet. I had to borrow one of the hoses for my cold air intake. I'm still coming up with a solution for that.
I have one on the v6 it runs much smoother with it.I haven't been getting the water condensation out the exhaust in the mornings after putting it on.bt stuff is a work of art!I have pics of mine on photobucket.check out TedCharger.
Bullish 09-03-2009, 01:23 PM After seeing how clean the catch can kept my throttle body was after 35,000 of use..
