Just installed the gas hood struts to my rt and I'm a moron I should have done this mod 3 years ago!

I heard that.... FOUR of ours need new hood struts! Just haven't done anything about it yet!

LOL...Yeah it was not my first mod but 4 months after buying my car I was sick of the prop rod and installed the struts. Great mod for sure.

Are they easy to attach? I plan on getting them, but, what all is involved with the change over? Please advise....

I understand! I hadn't had mine long either, and yep should have done it a LONG time ago!

Jim, I'm almost sure I got mine at rock auto and I think they weren't but around 10 or 11 bucks each.. I think!

I just got a pair of hood struts - can someone tell me where they attach? I saw the one pivot bolt on the hood - but where do the other pivot bolts attach?

You have to buy the lower mount unless your car came with the hood props to start with. I got mine through the dealership and they weren't to bad at all from what I remember.

That was the first mod on my car, still haven't pulled the prop rod off, but one day I will.

yeah - was looking at that old prop rod now - its riveted in - might get drilled out today. amazing how much more open the engine bay looks without that prop rod in the way.
