View Full Version : Mopar Coilovers on my Challenger R/T
Revmarc 08-29-2009, 04:54 PM I posted these up in the wheels section, but I thought I'd do it here too since I'm new to this site.
This is the Mopar (KW) coilover suspension, cranked all the way down. LOVE the way it handles and rides, totally different handling without killing the ride. It rubs only on hard turns into steep driveways or entrances that have little ruts. I may raise it a little, but I love the way it looks...even if I have to enter some places a litle slowly.

Well, duh! I need to do that, don't I? I forgot I hadn't put them up on here.

I see that you did and then I seen the price for them. And oh my god,I think Clay should come up with a thread for giving rims away.Cause that's where your rims belong...$1,300.00 for tires, rims and sensors.WOW!!!!!!!!
RevMarc it looks sweet!it looks even better in person.for those of you that have the 3.5 chargers like myself and I am sure 3.5 chally.I had my contact at the dealership call mopar and these coil overs will work on our cars as well.the sway bars the have will to.the only thing was they didn't know how it would ride because they haven't put them on a 3.5 yet.

Sounds good I have a 3.5 Charger with 24's and I wanna fill the gap between the fender and the wheel. What are the specs on these ( how far can the go up and down in inches )? How much? Part #?
They look real sweet on the Chally!!
Texasfinest 09-30-2009, 02:39 PM What's the purpose of the sway bar?
Revmarc 09-30-2009, 05:18 PM They are adjustable up to about 2 inches. Don't have answer about sways on the 3.5...could be that they are just not big enough to give proper feel with the coilovers.

Whats the part #? How much r they?
Revmarc 10-01-2009, 02:23 AM Don't know part # offhand, but retail is about $1300 I think. I got a real deal on them, so I'm not sure what you could buy them for. I can find out, if you'd like. I may be able to get you a better deal, even with shipping, than you could at your local place...
Hey the sway bars cut down on body roll while cornering.the mopar bars are 33mm front 22mm rear.the coilovers run 1400 and the sway bars run 450 for both.

Pm me some info please.
I call the parts dept.and get parts number for you.I should have said to about sway bars is besides bodyroll it helps keep more or your tire in contact with the ground while cornering.
sickr bee 10-02-2009, 02:23 PM Believe u have that bassackwards, swaybars controll body roll, at the expenese of contact patch, and should allways be done AFTER lowering.
Yea they go hand in hand.they control the one giving you the other.now Revmarc has not went to bigger sways yet but is planning on it.thanks for pointing it out.
Jettech104 10-06-2009, 05:39 PM Believe u have that bassackwards, swaybars controll body roll, at the expenese of contact patch, and should allways be done AFTER lowering.
You don't need to lower the car to enjoy the benefits of the sway bar. Going with the bigger sway bar controls the body roll on the car during cornering and makes the car feel like its riding on rails. So that you can corner faster without feeling the body roll.
Yea that's what I was trying to say about sway bars.you are right you can even drop the car without sways if you want.thanks jet.
Revmarc 11-25-2009, 04:31 PM In case anyone is on the fence about these...
Took the car to Road Atlanta this weekend, where professional driver Randy Pobst (www.randypobst.com (http://www.randypobst.com)) blasted it around the track. His comments?
"This car is planted." "Really fun..good power, great sound, great handling."
I asked what else it needed to make it better, i.e. sway bars, etc. His answer? "This car needs nothing. Great like it is."
Pretty good compliments from the guy who just did the "10 Best Drivers' Cars" for Motor Trend a couple of months back. :D
Stonecold se 11-28-2009, 12:08 AM Wow now that looks awsome, the level at which it sits has got to make it stick to the ground for sure. The wheels set the whole car off, nice job.
Revmarc 11-30-2009, 01:30 AM Thank you!
