Always awesome to watch. I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB and they launch satellites into pole to pole orbits (as opposed to equatorial orbits). Got to see a lot of launches. Of course, those are unmanned launches. It must be something seeing it and knowing someone is strapped to that rocket.

Awesome pic, here is a website that I keep open when the shuttle is in orbit, I think its cool to see it fly over so high above the earth and traveling at such a high rate of speed!!!

Nice photo man! My buddies and I went out back to watch the launch while at work. I work in the upper north side of JAX, so it was like 140-150 miles away. We could still see it pretty good, kinda lost it after booster seperation.

Great picture! I got to see the first shuttle on the pad right before the first launch, but was unable to stay for the launch. Would still like to see one someday.
