A few weeks ago I remove my 2010 Front Chin Spoiler and replaced it the newer 2011 style.

This should have been an easy install but due to me having an additional radiator (Kenne Bell LC Supercharger) in the way, I had to remove the entire front facia.. Normally you should only have to remove the belly pan and part of the wheel well liner to get to everything you need to make the change.

Thank goodness I had some help from the Panhandle Chapter President, Mike. At this time I would like to give Mike a BIG THANKS for his help as I would not have been able do the work by my self.

Here are a few of the pictures taken of the install: http://s968.photobucket.com/albums/ae168/DocFeelgood_al/2010%20to%202011%20Spoiler%20Swap/?albumview=slideshow

If you decide to do this upgrade, you will need:
1 - 2011 Front Chin Spoiler - PN 68109837AA
1 - 2011 Spat - PN 68109838AA RH
1 - 2011 Spat - PN 68109839AA LH
6 - Push Pins to mount Spats - PN unk.

Total prices for these parts seen to vary dealer to dealer. All the parts cost me less than $90.00

I understand that if you want to do the conversion on a non SRT Challenger, you will need to replace the belly pan and order the air ducts as well if you want the brake ducts to be functional. Please verify these PN's before you order parts.
1 - SRT8 Forward Belly Pan w/Brake Ducting - PN 5030943AA
1 - air duct inserts - PN 68086604AA RH
1 - air duct inserts - PN 68086605AA LH

The only modification/trimming I had to do was to a tab on the new spoiler and re-drill the hole in the tab. Once you get the spoiler on the facia, you will see where to do your modification/trimming.

Whats the difference between the two?? It looks like the newer on is a bit beefier, but I dont see any design difference really other than the part that attaches to the wheelwell is all one piece.

The way I understand it, I have heard there might be a problem with the older style spoiler at high speed and I was told this new style corrected the problem. As you can notice in the pictures, the spoiler is a 1 piece unit now and much stronger. It also directs the air away from the front tires and give you more down force and stability at high speed and has reduced flexing.

Look at the front edge and you will notice it doesn't have the blunt edge anymore and everything is more rounded.

Another reason for changing, the old spoiler had some curb rash on the edges. I now have a forward mounted camera that comes on at speeds below 8 mph to avoid this. You will notice the camera in the middle of the lower grill, facing downward.

Here are some comparison pictures of before and after:

Click here to see an install on a R/T (http://www.challengerforumz.com/showthread.php?t=66051)

Here is a Video I found.. This video is an install on a pre. 2011 R/T to an SRT Chin Spoiler. This video shows everything except for the Modification you need to do and it doesn't show the 2011 spats installed in the wheel well instead of the original spats. This install video was made before the 2011 Chin Spoiler was made available. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-QM02ca9l0
