View Full Version : Opinions Wanted on Wheels

I am not ready to spend a bunch of money on wheels yet so I thought about powder coating or painting my stockers. I would make the inside of the wheel black to help hide the "Brembo Dust". I would also make the SRT logo on the wheel orange plus order some custom center caps.

(The pic looks red after scanning, but it is supposed to be orange.)

These would be on a 2008 Hemi Orange SRT Challenger.

What do you think? Constructive criticism is welcome. If not, save your key strokes.

Thanks!

I am trying to get more info, but a guy at my wife's work says he knows of a shop that does multi color wheels. Will try to find out something next week.

I think it looks great Doyle! I wonder how it would look without the orange around the rim circumference?

Can't decide. You know how hard it is to pick wheels. I like both, but looking at other pics, it looks different depending on the angle, type of black etc. I guess I may just have to pull one off and paint it to see. Maybe I will tape it up and paint the tape or something.

i hear you... specially since you'll custom paint yours, you cant really go back! as for the type of black i like the satin black, not too shinny not too opaque u know? but its your ride and as long as your happy with the product is all it matters, good luck bud!

I will definitely do the satin. I like the look of the flat, but cleanabilty of the gloss. I had some satin powdercoating done on one of my Jeeps and loved it.

Nice scheme. A gunmetal grey or matte black will look good also.

This was on a 2001 Wrangler Sahara, but I also had a 95 Wrangler and my wife had a 2001 (I think) Grand Cherokee.

Question 2: With or without painted lip face?
I think both are neat, but the unpainted rim looks unfinished. From a distance, it will be hard to see where the rim ends and the tire begins.
