i know that we dont have a dipstick but is there anyway that we can check this ourself or does it have to go to the stealership or a mechanic?

well after reading that thread and some others...we would have to buy the Miller Dipstick, which after checking around costs about $75. wow what a ripoff..

75 bucks? that sucks! but i guess there is no choice...
lets get a bunch of guys together and buy one so we can all use it :D

Your best bet is to go to your dealer because you need a starscan to read the trans fluid temp when checking(there's a formula). You won't get an accurate reading by using a dipstick. You just need a Star-scan and a Service manual to properly check it. The starscan for the trans fluid temp, and the manual for the chart to tell the level in relation to said trans fluid temp... a dip-stick is only 1/3 of the battle...

Well as pricey as it may seem, should anything go wrong with transmission while under warranty they won't be able to say it was because i did something wrong.

you need to befriend someone in the service dept. like we did. he checks things out doesnt look at the extra add ons. we jke a friendust eat dinner and remeber him at x-mas. go out make a friend and save a dollar.

That definitely sounds like a good plan. do you think they'll look the other way on a fog lights install??:D

I hate the dealership. I feel like I am dealing with the Devil whenever I go there. I have never been to the service Department of any car dealer where the Manager was not arguing with an angry customer. Last time I took my car they suggested I get the 30k mile tune up. I was like oh what is involved with that? $900 worth of spark plugs and BS. Obviously I did not do it. I am scared of the idea of having to go to the dealer to get my trans fluid checked. Hopefuly smaller shops will begin to get the technology to check it in the near future.

Never even thought about checking that... Stupid me!!

I don't go to the stealership because if they see my twenty fo's my transmission warrenty will be voided for sure. I know because I took it In to get the oem fogs and switch in stalled and my friend told me that the next time the higher ups will note it and it will be voided!!!
