Allright as discussed before, i was debating on painting my rims so this project starts tomorrow, ill try to make this a teaser/write-up :D

Today i pull two of the tires out, dont worry i didnt leave my ride on bricks, my brother in law has the same stockers as i do, so i borrowed two of them, i clean them really good and right now they are seating on my back patio just waitting for tomorrow to get painted!

I know i should powder coat them but it gets too expensice and for like 30 bucks ill get them the way i want them, and eventually when cash starts flowing as it used to ill be getting different rims i just wanted a different look...

oh one more thing, i talk to austin over at identity and he can make the pinstriping to match my car paint so... lets see how it goes, wish me luck guys!

Dude,Kudos for taking it on yourself,there is quite a satisfaction in doing so.
A red pinstripe around the rim will look awesome! can't wait to see it!

Well, my mission started today, lets begin...
first you will need:
-Primer
-Wheel paint or engine enamel (i used engine enamel)
-Wheel clear coat
-some masking tape, newspaper, 800 and 360 grit sandpaper, a wire cup for those tight spots, paper towels
-tons of patience and willing

1.start of cleaning your wheels really good (i did that last night), you know degreaser, soap some agua and let them dry.

2. now time to start sanding with the 360 grit sand paper, sand every little corner untill you see that the finish is gone, no more shinny wheels for now

3. once you finish sanding wash your wheels again, dry them with paper towels and personally i left them outside for 30 mins (meanwhile you work on the other wheel)

4. once its dry get a cloth and wife off any dust of the wheel before primer

5. start shooting some primer on that wheel (dont forget to tape off the edges), remember go easy easy on it, lights coats please... i did 2 coats.

6. get your 800 grit sand paper and wet sand your wheels, this will make the primer smooth and you will get a better finish once you apply the paint.

7. wash them again! and let them dry, repeat #4

8. start shooting your paint, same way you applied the primer, light coats, go easy on it, we dont want to see drips on those beautiful wheels. I did 3 coats

9. let them bake under the sun for 30 mins...

10. do a light coat of clear coat, and let it dry completely

11. lets wet sand again! yeah this is the last time, take your time

12. repeat #7.

13. apply 2 more coats of clear and let them bake under the sun for another 30 mins or so.

OPTIONAL : apply your pinstriping! i did mine just to have an idea on how it would look, eventually ill color match it with Identity.

TIP : try to paint when its hot outside, do not paint while its humid or if it just rained, it will ruin the finish on any paint job, i learned the hard way (not this time)

yeah, since i painted them i jave noticed a couple of drivers slow down when i pulled on their sides and close to them :D gotta love it!

Get another set of black wheels and do the red stripe, though--the "Viper" wheels that fit Chargers and Challengers look amazing in black with the red stripe. I know it would be expensive to buy another set, but just write a check LOL:D!
