I was contacted the other day by e-mail from one of the presidents from a scion car club. She would like for about six of our club members to be judges for a toyota, scion, and lexus car show on Oct. 10th in Destin. For those of you that are interested just hit me up and let me know if you want to do it. Miamimel already told me that he was in. She said that they are going to treat us to alot of free food and we can also participate in the drwaing of some of the prizes.:D I assured her that we will not be entering any of our cars for the show as these are euro cars anyway. The show will be sponsored by quality imports and I think this is a great way to advertise our club and start putting word out about DSM:rolleyes: Oh, and we will be wearing our club shirts to the event!!!:cool:

What's the name of the show? Any info on it besides the date? I might be interested to go.

IMO... We may have our rules and regulations and what-not to join our club, and that's all fine and dandy, however, a GOOD car club doesn't discriminate against events and other car people... no matter what the make and model.... or country.lol.

Besides, i'm lookin for a day of travel, free food, and fun in the sun

I think it's a great idea myself! It is common to have other car clubs judge another clubs event. I can't see how it would hurt anything at all. Sounds like a lot of fun!

This is the one. I spoke to her on the phone yesterday and she sounded really nice. Besides, the event is a charity for a bunch of kids with MS to go and attend this camp that cost like $50,000 for two weeks:). How could you not say yes to something like that. So now yall know that I am a sucker for kids....:D

Man, that seems like a great cause! I know I'm not in the chapter, but I say go for it. You live in my old stomping grounds and wish I could be there for it.

I have not heard much feedback on this. So far I only have one other member that will be here to help judge this show on sat. I need at least 2 more people to help support this. If you are interested let me know.

This is going to be a real nice event. I just got off the phone with the organizer and she has really got it laid out. We should be able to take alot of notes from this event.

Today we had a great time judging the one love scion car show in Destin Fl. It was definitely a great experience checking out the scion cars. I must say that alot of them came with their A game!!! I was really impressed by how well everything was put together. There were over 100 cars at the show. It was hot and the only other member that came through to help me out with the judging was Mz Trouble. Truck crazy and his wife stopped through and it was a pleasure meeting them. DSM needs to get together and do things like this sometime. It was alot of fun and the scion car club will be welcome to any function that I have the pleasure of organizing. They treated me very well and really took care of us.

Hey Drill Daddy, it was cool meeting y'all as well. Sorry that we didn't plan better or we would have helped out. It looked like a lot of work, but fun. We'll try harder next time. I am hoping that we can get more involved in these events. See you this weekend at the Navarre show. :smileup:

Personally I like all cars... anything on wheels, I guess..... and we also have a SCION XB and I love that thing!!!

Sorry I couldn't go, my wife was in Connecticut over the weekend and this weekend she is in San Francisco for the marathon. The life of Mr. Mom and 3 kids.
