L and R Two 08-09-2009, 02:35 AM Be careful of those CF hoods. I bought one that was from VRS and was told that it was a full functional to the airbox. When I received it, it was functional, if I fabbed a kit for it to work. The opening was just that, a huge opening. No ports or direction to the airbox or the headers. Needless to say, I returned it quickly.
Another thing about the CF hoods is that getting the CF to mold properly around nostrils of the opening without spidering is IMPOSSIBLE. So if you are worried about even the littlest details about your car, you will not be happy. This information came to me directly from VRS the Mfg of the hood that I returned.
This is why that most retailers are selling these hoods so cheap. This guy has the hood for $500 with no warranty. I bought mine for $800 shipped from Cali with a warranty. Just to give you a price comparison. You would be better off getting yourself a TruFlow hood that is REALLY functional and have it painted for a couple hundred dollars.

Good info there Randy! i didnt know nada about cf hoods, good looking out... well i know im not getting a cf hood!
L and R Two 08-09-2009, 12:41 PM NP all, I knew CF hoods that did not need much molding always looked good, but did not know about the molding situation until I got the one that I ordered.
As of now, there are 2 mfg's of CF SRT hoods that I know about and both have the same problem. Both are off road use only (like I have ever paid attention to that detail before) since the intake function has to be customized, and the CF spidering around the ports happens on both. That is why I don't have on.
