Here is a little trick I have used with them in the past,Now they seem to have different people there these days so I couldnt tell you if it will work, but it has for me in the past.
When on the phone with them ask for the disconnect dept. And most of the time you wioll get someone who really want to keep you there!
RedInfierno 07-24-2009, 10:32 PM i will do that next time, but man they really pissed me off! oh well
we shall see
patrick2164 07-26-2009, 12:10 AM better 2 be pissed off than 2 be pissed on lol:D

Ok those FTA receivers are IKS receivers (Internet Key Service) which means that you have to hook those receiver to your internet, to get your keys so you can see some channels.
The good-you have some basic channels and HBO ,showtime and some others I think about 50 to 75 channels. They are adding more.
The Bad- being hooked up to your internet they have your IP address so if they get raided they will have a list of IP . They are having some issues with freezing . Some go down but are back up in a while.

Let me ask you ernie, do u know this by experience? word of mouth?
i started reading about this yesterday and it got me interested u know?
would you recomend it vs. directv or dish? being "free"??
MHemi 07-26-2009, 12:56 PM Hey RRRRRRRRenato,I heard that AT&T has new TV service but its not every where yet,I am not sure about down there.you[I] may want to check into it
L and R Two 08-09-2009, 03:10 AM If you still need info on this, PM me. My neighbor has it, or I should say had it up until a week ago when the FTA status changed and he would have to buy all new boxes and he won't.
Anyway, I know all about this and there are forums that you can read about this as well.
Short version is that you need computer hook up, not connected all the time and there are receivers that you can get that you can update using a SD card instead of hardwiring. Depending on the channel lineups you select, you can get every channel that Dish Network offers INCLUDING all PPV and premium channels.
RedInfierno 08-09-2009, 03:22 AM Good info right there! but im still debating about it... too many pros and cons i guess, im still good with DTV for now, but we will see...
Thanks!

i never heard of this before until just now reading this thread. the website says its perfectly legal...why would be have to worry about tracking IPs if it gets raided? these are questions i honestly know nothing about this...

It is legal if you view the signals offered (which there are about 50 or so), however it is published all over that you can obtain Dish Networks and Direct TV's lineup and PPV which is all for profit programming. Plus these are the lineups that everyone wants if you speak/watch english programming.

ohh i see what you mean...so basically you buy those boxes and you can legally watch the channels that come with it for free and never pay another fee again? i wonder what channels it comes with...

msierra519 08-14-2009, 02:45 PM Two words - Sunday Ticket
i know the new season is starting up soon!! i cant wait!
L and R Two 08-14-2009, 05:19 PM Here is how the programming works.
Each dish can be programmed to broadcast 2 or 3 satellite. From the FTA list you choose these after viewing the programming. Not all programs will get through, even with FTA, like Sunday Ticket, or any of Direct TV private programming. Those are special to them only and their boxes. The only programming that you can view is if it is available to EVERYONE with a general package. This is why most of everyone will choose Dish Networks programming lineup. They have more available channels and PPV than Direct TV.
Another thing that you look at when picking your programming, is what sats can you pick with the position of your dish. Remember, not all sats are in the same place. SO if you choose one program list, you may not be able to get the second one that you want because of sat position in the sky.
Old FTA used the big ass 8ft dishes that you could program to rotate and what not to get in signal. The new FTA uses the smaller 18in dishes that are stationary.
There is alot to FTA. I was going to do it until I found out that I could not get the Sunday ticket. I stayed with Direct TV for that reason and pay out my butt every month for it... LOL!!!!!!
RedInfierno 08-14-2009, 05:46 PM and what about motorized dishes? not good?

I don't know anyone that has a motorized dish anymore nor have I read about one in the last 15 years or so.. LOL!!! Can't help you out there.
As far as knowing my stuff, I love technology, and when I see something I don't even know the slightest bit about, I start reading and researching. I like checking into non technical stuff as well, but electronics and science I can read about all day long.
RedInfierno 08-15-2009, 03:53 AM ha i beat you on that one! i read about motorized dishes, they seem good since you have more of a choice on channels you know? just set which satellite to aim and bam! u got it... but you have read moooore way than i did about this, i like reading about tech stuff as well, but in this case i didnt know about actual people that i knew about using this...
Thanks a lot!
