Ok guys, I will be getting a cam here pretty soon and wanted to know where all the cam installer people are? Shops or just people with the know how that are willing to share a day of their time, to swap the cam, springs, and pushrods in my truck.

I would like to do it myself, but would pay if I had too I guess?

Yeah that would be cool. And really all I want. Someone to walk me through or assist. I would like to do the install myself. I put cams in my neon. Dohc vs ohv though. I have torn another neon motor down, replaced some valves and put it all back together. So I am not mechanically stupid.

Only problems I think I would have is with the timing chain, and basket. then installing the cam. I hear people talk about installing at a certain ICL, and I am unsure with that.

I would much rather someone come over, I will get beer if thats what they drink (I dont) and sit in a chair and tell me what to do and what not to do pretty much. And if I get jammed up then help me out. If they have to get dirty I will give a little money for thier time.

Shops are like a last resort if I cant find anyone that will come hang out for the day and help. thanks man

awesome man, how much experience do you have with it? Like how many installs have you done? You pull the heads, or do the spring swap with the heads on?

Yeah I read that it was easier to pull the heads, with the right side especially. But I would appreciate the help/ assistance. I will pm you once I get ready to do everything. Unless you dont frequent these boards alot and you want to pm me a contact number or email, that would be great. Thanks.

Richard
