Went to a show today with a couple friends. Alma Georgia. Guysie Car Show. End of nowhere, and turn left. Absolutely nothing down there, but a pretty good car show by Georgia standards.
About 120 cars. Lots of different categories. I ended up taking First overall in Modern Car - Custom. Beat a 99 Mustang with Flames and some late model kit car called evolution or something like that. Even with a dinged up bumper (getting fixed next week)!
My buds took trophy's as well. Best Late Model Truck - Custom (Dodge Daytona) and 2nd in Late Model Truck -Original (Chevy SSR).
Best of Show was a 67 Chevelle.. Black - Really nice. They had some really nice coupes, a bunch of 55-57 Chevy's.. some nice 1st Gen Camaros.. A really nice 'cuda convertible (sublime). I was shocked the 'cuda didn't win anything.
Very well done show I thought. Lots of locals, but they brought in judges from outside the area to do the judging. I thought that was classy. They could have easily done like most places and used a local but they deliberately went out and got judges so it would be fair. Nice trophy's, and lots of categories.
Here's a pic of my car at the show, in front of the old barn. Best pic I've been able to take of the car thus far.
It was a 2 hr drive for me, so I know it's a haul for y'all up in Atlanta. But, I will say, someone came down from Atlanta and won the longest drive award.
