i think we are scratching Morrisons as it is an outside lot and we won't have time to get there and get to StreetSide and RK Motors in time (these will be better anyway!)

we might be maxed out at Sticky Fingers but there are a few other places to eat

http://deepsouthmopars.com/images/icons/icon1.gif Independence Weekend Cruise In At Lake Keowee Dodge July 2nd (Atlanta)
Hey guys and gals of the DSM,

I have worked with Mark (GM) and Steve (Sales Manager) at Lake Keowee CDJRSRT for the last few months asking them to do a cruise in at their dealership.

So they have finally agreed and they say it will be a HONOR to have us there to do a cruise in.

So with that said,I am asking for a FAVOR here and that you will come support this cruise in and show this area what the DSM is ALL about.I am really hoping for at least 25 to 30 Mopar car owners to sign up and join me for this AWESOME show.

Here are the details......

There is going to be radio advertising about this event, and hopefully Mark will mention the DSM as whole (meaning multiple chapters being involved) during that radio slot.

There is going to be FREE food All day long.It will be barbecuing burgers and dogs and all the fixin's.

FREE drinks (NON ALCOHOLIC) of course.

Live music

Bounce House's (For Kids or Adults)

Games

For the cruise in participants PRIZES include....

T-shirts

FREE Oil Changes

Service gift certificates

And to end the day off right....There will be the BIGGEST Firework Display In The Upstate Of S.C..

One of the contactee's on the flyer is a GALXC member. I've gone to the last 2 Toys for Tots at the end of the year. It's a good time, and the food there is good as well! The event I'm waiting for him to post info on is the Corvettes against Breast Cancer at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. That is in October. You get 5 laps for $25. You can get up to 100+, which doesn't seem like much, but just the chance to go out on the racetrack is an experience in itself!

We have been going to this event for the last four years, last year they added "x-mass in July". It is run by the nroth GA vetts but they changed the name to "kewlrides" to include all makes and models. Its gonna be a long weekend you got the all mopar show at the dinner on Sat and toys for tots on Sun (I got a soft spot when it comes to the kids so yea I will be there).

Just wanted to add for those in NW GA, the Cleveland TN monthly Cruise-In is this Sunday 8/28 beginning at 3PM.

They usually have several hundred cars (took up about 4 blocks last time I went in April) and it's pretty nice for a Cruise in. I'll be hitting this one up this weekend.

I saw the Galaxy Drive-In was having a Toys for Tots show sometime in November. I'd hit that one except it falls on one of the two weekends I will be out of state on vacation.

Cleveland, TN just had their last cruise-in of the year and did the same with the Marine Corps Reserve & Toys for Tots.

2011 Southern Super Heavy Shootout - SSHS11!

SSHS11 will be held at Atlanta Dragway on Saturday, November 5th, 2011. It is located in Commerce, GA, about an hour north of downtown Atlanta on I-85.

This premier event, will settle on the drag strip which rear wheel drive Mopar, GM, or Ford heavyweight has what it takes to win 4 bracket racing ET classes, 1 Pro Street 12.00 Index class, and 1 Big Dog all-out heads up class.

This event will match some of the fastest Chargers, 300Cs, Impalas, Caprices, Mark VII's, Mark VIII's, Marauders and Crown Vics on the planet, along with any other heavyweight domestic car or truck weighing in at 4000 pounds or more with driver. That would also make some late model heavyweight pony cars like the Camaro SS, Challenger R/T, and the Mustang GT 500 eligible to compete if you meet the 4000 pound with driver weight requirements.

Contestants are competing for SSHS trophy's in their individual ET bracket racing class, that leads into the King of the Hill bracket ET competition where the 4 ET bracket winners race for the King of the Hill trophy. The Pro Street 12.00 Index class has stock appearing vehicles (no tube chasis race cars), no electronics, slicks and open headers allowed, racing heads up, on a pro tree, off a 12.00 index. The event wraps up with the Big Dog heads up, all out, run what you brung off a pro tree class finals, and trophy presentations.

There will be a car show showcasing some of the finest customs, classics, hot rods, and late model rides in the south, with trophy awards. Before and between SSHS rounds, the track will also be open for test and tune drag racing all day for rear wheel drive cars and trucks that pay the race admission price and pass tech inspection, so there is something to do for everyone!
