it may be redundant for me to reply to this, since you may not be able to see it, but good luck! I just had the same thing happen to me, hard drive failed,still not sure if it was caused by a virus or not, but I was fortunate enough to get most of my data off it with a device I "borrowed" :naughty:,from Best Buy, had to order the recovery disk from HP then buy a new hard drive! all in all it only cost me @ $75.00 to get it back up and running, of course i did this after i bought a new Laptop, so I gave the repaired one to my daughter:smileup:
