This is the plan for the April 10 ride.

We will meet at the Race Track Gas station just off exit 173 on I85.
The station is just east on the exit. If anyone needs to top off their tanks that's the time to do it. Meeting time is 8:00 AM.

We should leave the station no later than 8:30. We will take Highway 17 to Alt 17 to Toccoa falls. We will pass through the city of Toccoa. The falls are on the property of Toccoa College. We can park and a short trail (couple of minutes) to the falls. It's about 20 minutes to get there from Lavonia and we can spend about 30 minutes there for pics etc.

Next will be Tallulah Gorge. Back on Alt 17 to Highway 23.North It should take about the same 20 minutes to get there.

Here we will park at a overlook. Georgia power is releasing water that morning from the dam so the river and rapids should be extra nice. They open it up for rafting and Kyacking. We can do about the same also 30 minutes for pics etc.

Next on to Helen. Back down Highway 23 to Highway 385 and Highway 17 and 75 to the city of Helen. About a 45 Minute ride. We will drive thru Hellen and be prepaired for the attention we get. With this many Mopars it should be fun. Helen gets pretty crowded. Once we get through the City we will pick up Alt 75 to 348 and 180. This is where the Rusell-Brasstown Scenic Byway begins.

There are two stops along this route we will do. The first is Dukes Creeks Falls. Now I think there may be a $4.00 Parking fee here. A short trail to the falls. The next stop when we leave here is a scenic overlook no parking fees here. Next stop Brass Town Bald Mountain.
There is a $4.00 Parking fee here. There's a huge parking area just below the Summit. A 1/2 mile trail to the top and you can see al the way to North Carolina. There is a shuttle bus if you don't want to walk.$3.00 adults $2.00 Children. At the Summit is a large circular stone and wood obsevation area.

We have some time here for Viewing, Pictures Etc.

When we leave we will head back to Helen along Highway 180 to Highway 17. There are some twisties along this route back to Helen. (Shane is excited....LOL)

When we reach Helen we will Park in the Municiple Parking Lot.$2.00 to park.

We will eat Lunch at Margaritaville. They are opening April 2 for the season. They are supposed to have a diverese menu and Live music...

If I figured this right we should finish up lunch at around 3:30 or 4:00.

Then we can make plans to start heading Home. I will print out maps for Shanes Group so you can get back to I85. The Atl group we will convoy back to I985.

Remember there are some parking fees.At least $10.00 AND THE SHUTTLE FOR THE MOUNTAIN.

If your in Henry County Get on 75 north.
Once you get into Atlanta look for I85 North. Get on I85 North.

I did take some ribbing from the spectators at the stops along the way though...LOL. This was my first event of this type and it was AWESOME, to say the least. I'm hoping to see some of you again at Gatty.

Brian, what you do not know is that not long after you jumped off at your exit, there was an LEO parked on the far left with his radar gun trained on oncoming traffic. I would like to thank everyone for supporting this first Atl Chapter ride.
Although we started out with 24 cars and came home with 23 I hope everyone had a good time.

We got Jared and Amy home safe last night and I believe their car is totaled.
They had a Guardian Angel with them yesterday.

I also want to thank Guy (spelling) for looking out for who was behind him and getting us stopped when he noticed Jared and Amy were missing. You rock buddy!!!!!!

Thank God nobody got hurt.

It was great meeting new friends and meeting up with Shane and the South Carolina Chapter again. You guys are awesome!!!!!!!

Everyone who came from out of state, Tennessee, South Carolina,Florida, North Carolina you all ROCK!!!!!
