We have been listening to the weather man all week and he kept saying the storm heading across the Southeast would more than likely miss us here 50 miles N. of Charlotte, and we could get flurries or a dusting. Well no "BRINE" was put on the roads... we have at least two inches of snow and still snowing hard right now! On the evening news they just said "It appears this storm has caught by surprise and we are anticipating Icing conditions by morning. The Sherriff's department has requested that IF you don't have too, please stay OFF the roads tonight!"
What do they use all the "Dopler" equipment for anyhow??? LOL

I hear ya Jim....I do not know if you watch the weather on Monday and Tuesday of this week, but if you did you will know that they said that only 30% chance for RAIN for Friday.

So much for that forecast huh....I guess you can kinda blame me for this snow since I did plan a event for this weekend....

Must be nice to keep your high-paying job even when you are wrong at least 50% of the time!

Thats why I am glad that I am off this weekend without a lot of obligations. Down here in SE Charlotte it snowed about an inch and a half but I went up the street to Rite Aid around 9AM and the roads were mostly clear just wet. My cars are tucked away for the winter.

I have a police scanner and listen to all the crap going on around town.

What did ya'll expect? Saint's won the Super Bowl!!!. It was always said that they would win when Hell froze over. Have you checked out the weather in Washington D.C. this week? The Carolina's are just one(or two) state(s) removed and getting caught on the edge. :)

well guys I'm sitting in a motel room in Gatlinburg TN, it only took me 9hours to make a 3hr trip, left out around 11 yesterday, decided to go through Maggie valley/Cherokee/Smoky mtn pkwy, well guess what, I get to the entrance to the Pkwy and they are closing the gate right in front of me, AHHHH!!!, so they hand me this map and say follow this it's about a 3.5 hour detour, anyway i decided to go another route which would have cut about an hour of the detour, except for the nice people in front of us that would not or could not go over 25mph, anyway after driving through the white out conditions, and seeing numerous wrecks, we pulled in to Gatlinburg around 8:30 last night, and now we are going to go do a little exploring and enjoy our visit! pics later

WOO HOO.... the weather man was wrong for TODAY too.... said temps would be in the low 40's and it's already over 50 and most of the 3 or more inches of snow we had is almost gone already! Glad he was WRONG this time!!! ~LOL~
We had planned on taking both our dogs to the vets for rabbie shots and get their nails clipped and because it turned out better than expected we got to do this today!

Ha weather forecaster. When the snow 1st started back in I guess January. Everyone was stranded on I-26. The had a member of WLOS news crew stranded on the interstate with everyone else. I was like dag if you can't warn your co-workers about the bad weather then I have no chance with your forecast.

It was odd and a little funny but I bet she raised heck when she got back to work.
