I was comparing my graph with the example of the SRT's graph on Injected Engineering's site. I pulled another 10HP over the custom tune they performed on that SRT....makes me wonder how much more I could get if they did a custom tune on mine? Think I could get closer to 400 for another $400?:4-dontknow:

One thing they do when they do a custom tune is Air/Fuel. (Timing also). Mine was running rich. My tune picked up about 30 HP on the low end but the peak was only about 7HP. Also more low end torque.

You came up with some awesome numbers there. Talk to Aric at IE. See what he says and if he thinks you'd benefit from a custom tune.

388 at the wheels..... .....15% loss I think would put you at 446 at the motor. IF I DID MY MATH CORRECT.....LOL

On most manual trans. cars you will experience a 15% loss of power through the drivetrain. On some auto trans cars it can be closer to 20% loss. If you are trying to figure out your Engine Horsepower rating just multiply your Rear Wheel Horsepower/Torque numbers by 1.15 for a 15% loss or 1.2 if you think it may be closer to a 20% loss. If you are not sure which percentage to use do it both ways and average the two numbers (this will get you close). For example if your car made 388rwhp and 395rwtq it would look like this.

15% Loss

388 x 1.15 = 446.2 engine horsepower

395 x 1.15 = 454.3 engine torque

or

20% Loss

388 x 1.2 = 465.6 engine horsepower

395 x 1.2 = 474 engine torque

Average of the two calculations

446.2 + 465.6 = 911.8 / 2 = 455.9 engine horsepower

454.3 + 474 = 928.3 / 2 = 464.2 engine torque

Since we're discussing technical aspects...
How much difference does overall gear ratio make in the dyno results, with otherwise similar drivetrains? (I always understood that it was supposed to equal out, but I could be wrong.)
I know that my first pull was accidentally run in 3rd gear instead of 4th, and those results were discarded. Seems like that pull was lower? Could be wrong about that.
Where I'm going with this is that I'm trying to find some logic behind why my car, box stock (disregarding the "unfiltered" pull) dynoed about the same as the silver six speed after his had the Predator tune.
It occurs to me that the silver car has 3.92 gears. Or at least it should with the 20" wheels.
Mine has the 3.73 gears, and 18" wheels.
The only other variable might be the weight of the wheels themselves. Is that enough to make a difference?

It also occurs to me that, based upon any of the accepted drivetrain losses, the advertised horsepower of all of our engines is waaaaaay under-rated by Chrysler. The R/Ts are only supposed to be making 370-375 at the crank. :D

Thanks for all of the great information guys! Think a supercharger is a pie in the sky, but for now, I'm still learning about the predator. Anyone have any experience with changing gear ratios? Is it worth it even?

You might want to ask Ryan and Aric about a Torque Converter.
On my R/T I was told by two different shops several months ago that doing a Torque Converter first would deliver more bang for your buck.
On your SRT I dont know.

First off sorry for the delayed response but we have been crazy busy and I just now got around to checking this thread. The cars def. seem to be underated by Chrysler. The gear ratio won't really make a difference power wise but larger heavier wheels can definitely play a part in power loss.

I'm taking some leave time in May and plan a road trip to So Cal, Vegas, Grand Canyon etc. I would love to hit some car shows or M&Gs along the way, you know.
