I have a house in Dawsonville GA, near the Outlet mall.
(North GA towards the end of GA400 North)
I have a 6x9 bathroom that needs linoleum flooring put in it.
I purchased the flooring from Lowes, and Lowes gave me a INSTALL price of $150 which incl’s the glue and other stuff, but then they told me THEY NEEDED TO ADD ADDITION $110 to it because it was a small job and it was not $$$ profitable to send someone out to this job for the quote price.. and that my $35 for them to go see the job would not be credited towards the price..
Anyway.. I am shopping around for a Handyman who is wiling to do a small job. I have no problem paying what the job is worth around $150, But the extra $110 and no $35 credit.. that’s additional $145 on top of $150. Hell no. Not worth it..
Do Ya know anyone.. ????
You would think in today’s economy
No job is too small.

Shouldn't be too tough as N. Ga is the flooring capital of the world.

I know a guy here in Marietta. Don't know if he'll go to Dawsonville.
I'll give him a call over the weekend.

Then they shouldn't offer to do it.. or be upfront about the hidden costs
I told then at the store when I puchased the floor that it was a 6x9 bathroom.
They gave a per sqaure footage price. I was like cool.
But they needed to get a exact measurement, I said cool. They said it was going to cost $35. I said OK..
because in the past that was always credited back off the final price
So if they were going to add a SMALL JOB fee and not give me credit on my $35 because it was a small job..
I should of been told that day while I was there.
Spoke to Mgr and he said.. He didn't know why she didn't tell me about the policy..
He would even give me back the $35 in good faith..
So I lost $35 and he lost $150.
and Lowes lost another customer to Home Depot.

Well, the fact of the matter is the people who work @ Home Depot and Lowes move around. One day "Dave" is working in plumbing and then tomorrow filling in @ the flooring department......
Usually a hard surface install is quoted per Sq. Ft but no one is driving out to do an install for $35....... Heck, the gas money just to get out to the house is at least half that......... Im not saying its anyones fault but whenever you have a small job at the house..... be it flooring, plumbing, AC Repair, there will always be a Minimum for going out if the job is small
Next time, let me know if you needed a floor. Sometimes I have left overs laying around here that you could just have bro

You're awesome Bro... I will keep that in mind for next time
I had to rip up my bathroom floor to repair the actual floor that had water damage.
So I just purchased some linoleum to put down.. Nothing to fancy..
Didn't think I was going to have this kind of problem with install..
Now I know for next time..
See you soon brother.. Hopefully on 1/31/2010 in Orlando.

Glad you found someone to get the job done. Seems like nobody wants to work anymore. Go figure......
