View Full Version : Bling Rings installed!!!
gecko4012 05-25-2009, 03:42 AM Well I got my Led Halos installed yesterday after all the rain. Looks great and seems like they're holding out the water. I'll get some pics up tomorrow. They're plenty bright and I got the dimmer ones! Thanks to Overcharged for the remote kit, definitely made the install easier.
Joker 05-25-2009, 10:53 AM Can't wait to see the pics!!!!

OverCharged 05-25-2009, 02:39 PM good job DW. i cant seem to keep water out of mine. i dont know what im going to do. i might just buy a new headlight. ive taken mine apart 4 times now.
gecko4012 05-25-2009, 03:36 PM Buy some black window sealent and put it around the top of the lights at the seam too. Also make sure that you put some on the back where the wiring comes out.
OverCharged 05-25-2009, 10:49 PM i did. i found the problem. when drying it out last time with a hair dryer, i melted the high beam light socket. ordered a new one today

sweeeet!!!!! I likey, i likey alot :)
im pullin mine out on wed and installing new ones with Steve from flashtech. Im also gonna paint my housings brilliant black instead of the purple. I had an issue with my halos cause my car when running pushes 14.3v through its electrical system and the LEDS are made for 12v so i had a few foul out. Steve got a volt resistor and we are gonna put in new ones.

im so pissed. its a cheap part and hopefully i can dry it out w/o taking it apart again. im gonn run the dryer on it before i install the new socket.

What??? some of the LEDs went bad? I'd be surprised if the voltage had anything to do with it. Every electrical component for these (any) cars are are made for 12v. Your underbody LEDs for example. All vehicles run more than 12v when running, at least 13-14....
Just saying... weird... when are you guys installing these?
RedInfierno 05-26-2009, 01:37 AM those look awesome! see? pics are needed on every new mod...
gecko4012 05-26-2009, 03:04 AM Thanks! Glad everyone approves.I did notice a little condensate this evening and I realized I forgot to seal up the wire holes in the back. luckily I was able to reach it from the top and seal them up. Hopefully this cures it.
AACstyle.com 05-26-2009, 01:59 PM Looking good Gecko! Those are the 2000mcd?
Are you going to do the fogs?
gecko4012 05-26-2009, 02:07 PM Yeah they are the 2000s. Probably not. Yall sent them to me accidentally and told me I could keep them but I didn't want to have to cut them so I sent them back.
