If you've been wondering why you haven't seen me post up on the boards this week, I had a heart attack on the way to work Tuesday morning. I actually drove all the way to work, went inside, told my supervisor about the problem, drove my car back into the city to Trinity hospital, parked in the deck, and walked into the ER. A few hours later I had two stents in my heart, one in a 99% blocked artery, one in an 80% blocked artery. I go back in a month for another stent in a 70% blocked artery.
Good news is I was only in ICU over night, got into the cardiac ward Wednesday, and got released to home today, where I have to hang out and recover for a week. I go back to work next Wednesday, though the doc wanted me to take more time. (I get cabin fever big time).
No more double cheesburgers for me! All I can eat now is no or low fat foods that taste worse than the boxes they come in.

Oh my Lord!:3-startled: Thank God you got there in time! Glad to see you are recovering! What a wake up call! Stay true to your new diet. There are actually alot of great tasting low fat foods out there that taste good. I know its not the same but I had my gall bladder out in October and still cannot stand to eat fried foods! Guess it's learned behavior. Keep taking care of yourself thats the best thing you can do! By the way we are all planning on having a meet and greet on 01-09-2010 at Malbis! We would love for you to come if you can!

Yes SIR... take care of yourself!!! Don't be in too much of a hurry to go back to work, I did, and may have paid the price as well. I've had six heart surgeries and finally NOT able to work at all anymore...SO BE CAREFUL!
I feel your pain! And as you get older all kind of things pop up...I'm at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC for prostate cancer treatments and should be done on Dec 14th. Just BE SMART and DON'T push yourself too fast Brother!
God Bless YOU!!!

Donny, I was wondering where you were. I'm glad your home and OK brother.
You need to recover and stick to your diet. Don't push yourself to go back to work until your DR. says so. If you need anything call me.
And keep us posted on how your doing.
