View Full Version : Dyno Test and Tune Atlsilverbullet 12-10-2009, 03:16 PM Guys I am looking for a good place Atl that does dyno testing and tuning. Can anyone help me out and tell me the process so I know what to look for Jettech104 12-10-2009, 03:49 PM Hey I have a shop in Kennesaw who would do the dyno for us!!! Please read this link and leave and answer on it!! If you are interested we could go with a couple of guys. http://www.deepsouthmopars.com/showthread.php?t=1066 Thanks Eddie Jettech104 12-10-2009, 09:28 PM Okay lets try this again!!! I would like to know how many would like to do the dyno run @ Injected Engineering!! Second when would the majority like to have this? The weekend of the 19th of DEC. or Jan 9th or 16th. I believe that Jan would be better for several reasons. But I will try very hard to make it happen DEC.19th if that's what you guys want. I still have to contact ryan @ Injected to hammer out the details. If he holds true to what he told me then $55 for three pulls. For those that would like to get a custom tune then I have to get a quote. So please answer back as soon as you can so that we may get this done!!! Thanks EDDIE 1.Atlsilverbullet (William) 2.Eddie Marcusk 12-10-2009, 10:17 PM Good idea - thanks for the nudge Eddie 1.Atlsilverbullet (William) 2.Eddie 3.MarcusK (can't do Dec 19th so Jan dates if poss) BLACKBEAUTY 12-11-2009, 07:24 PM ME TOOO!!!!!! I need to see how my baby does on another dyno. I had mine Dyno tuned at MPH a couple of months back. Their moving to Chicago. I met the guys at Injected Engineering a few weeks back and I will be talking to them after the holidays about some more work on my baby. Whatever date you decide is OK with me....... Joe Jettech104 12-11-2009, 07:43 PM I have not heard back from Injected engineering. They are closed until the 13th. Due to a trade show that they are attending now. As soon as I get a hold of them or I will have Joe drop by since he lives 5min. away from them!!!:naughty: Stay tuned!! 1.Atlsilverbullet (William) 2.Eddie 3.MarcusK (can't do Dec 19th so Jan dates if poss) 4.Joe BLACKBEAUTY 12-12-2009, 02:48 AM I'll stop there this coming week and get the info. We are shooting for Jan. dates. Joe Donny Carlson 12-12-2009, 03:50 AM Some of the former MPH techs are opening a shop, which has an in-ground dyno. It's in Pauling county, though, about 35-40 miles west of Kennessaw. I can give you their phone number if interested. That said, you'll find Injected Engineering is a great place, some of their people have worked on past cars of mine. I missed you at the Toys for Tots. Send Eddie the info on that new shop when you can. Joe jaredpharmd 12-12-2009, 04:54 AM I would like to as well. Either location is OK with me. January would be better due to the Holidays, etc. What actually happens on a dyno with a custom tune? I have a Diablo Predator, and everyone has said to get a custom tune, but I'm just don't know enough about it. Is it worth it if I only have bolt-ons? Thanks, Jared Jettech104 12-12-2009, 05:23 AM I would like to as well. Either location is OK with me. We will be have a dyno run so that each of us can see what our cars are making HP wise.To answer your question, even with just the bolt-ons a custom tune will adjust the car even more. This custom tune will be made for your car with the data gathered on the dyno. While the predator is a universal tune!! I still have to find out what the charge is for the custom tune. The shops usually charge a per hour fee. 1.Atlsilverbullet (William) 2.Eddie 3.MarcusK (can't do Dec 19th so Jan dates if poss) 4.Joe 5.Jared Jettech104 12-12-2009, 04:18 PM Okay I got an e-mail back from Injected Engineering and this is what they anwsered back!! Eddie, Sorry for the delayed response, we are out of town in Orlando FL for the Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow. The rates I quoted you still stand as a special price for your club. I will call you when we return on Tuesday to set up dates for dyno time. For custom dyno tuning (labor only) the price will range from $450-$550 depending on how modified the vehicle is. We do have Diablosport Predators in stock which are $375. Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you. Sincerely, Ryan Wall Injected Engineering 3605 Kennesaw N. Donny sent me this info. It's owned by a good friend of mine who you have met at Caffiene and Octane, Marty Ochs. He's the guy with the old Mopars. His Chief tech is Jeff Harris, who worked at MPH, ran his own shop before that, and was a master tech at Team Ford in Marietta before that. They have an in ground dyno. As a new shop, I would think they'd love to have a dyno day for Mopars. Mo's Speed Shop Brandon and myself will be opening a shop in Dallas Ga with Marty running the show. I have made friends with many of you on here and if you need anything done come see us! Our location will be 204 White Park Dr. Dallas Ga. 30132 770 222 5015 will be good the 22nd 770 443 7175 404 569 3786 good today We will be having opening day when all the cold weather is over so i hope everyone will come out and see the new shop. Still have to talk to them and see what type of deal we can get. So the more people who are interested the better the deal!!! Thanks Donny for the info!! If you get to talk to them before me let me know what they say!! BLACKBEAUTY 12-12-2009, 05:01 PM I would like to as well. Either location is OK with me. Timing for another. The canned tunes that come with the predator are good but they don't and can't do everything as each car is different. Tim had mine on the dyno for about 3 hours. Running it, making adjustments on his PC. Installing the tune running it again to get new numbers. And doing that several times. We will tour the shop and talk with Ryan the owner. I think I will set the Dyno day for Jan.16th. It should give everybody a chance to join us if you are interested. Plus give everybody a breather after the holidays!! Please chime in if this sounds like a plan for you!!! So far we have the following people: 1.Atlsilverbullet (William) 2.Eddie 3.MarcusK 4.Joe 5.Jared 6.Mike??? 7.Chris??? Jettech104 12-20-2009, 03:21 AM Okay gang Joe and I stopped by the shop! We talked to Erick about having the dyno day on the 16th of Jan. Ryan called me today as well. We need a min. of 6 cars to reserve the dyno day. The cost is $55 for three pulls per car!!! I need to know who is going for sure by the end of this coming week!! We need to have a deposit of $165 to reserve the day. That is 1/2 of the $55 for the 6 cars. Even if we get more then 6 cars we do not have to give any further deposits!!! This is a sweet deal hope many of you can take advantage of it. Thanks Eddie:smileup: Walaby 12-20-2009, 03:44 AM Eddie, Put me down for a for sure. Tell me how you want the deposit. I can send a check on Monday, or send you a paypal payment if you do paypal. If something comes up and I have to canx, I'll still pay my way. I can't commit for my buddy, but hopefully we'll have six without him. Mike BLACKBEAUTY 12-20-2009, 11:00 PM You know I'm in Bro...... So that's three so far. Also Erick said he would bring a grill if we want to do hot dogs and hamburgers. I am willing to supply the burgers and dogs. Any other ideas are welcome. I'm hoping everyone can make it. Eddie is trying real hard here to get this club together. We are also working on a spring ride in the north Georgia Mountains. Details will be worked out in the next couple of weeks. Joe Walaby 12-20-2009, 11:58 PM I'll kick in for some burgers and dogs as well.. or pay for soda's. I'd prefer to send some extra money and have someone pick up the soda's etc, since if I have to back out for whatever reason (read work), it won't impact anything. I just need to know who to send the deposit money to.. Either snail mail check or paypal works for me. Im heading to Dallas on Weds AM, so just need to know before then. This may be a crazy question, but, how are we cooking the dogs? Anyone bringing a grill? Later, Jared Yes, I know it says it's a pepper, but it sure looks like a hot dog to me! Traincrafter 01-13-2010, 02:58 AM I called Injected Engineering this afternoon to see if a canopy might be useful if we have a (whispering this) rain shower. I talked to Ryan and he said that would be fine and I could set it up beside the grill so that anyone going after a hot dog would not have to get wet. I got the idea that they have a grill. Someone should confirm this. Ryan seemed excited about having the group on Saturday. He was going to call Jettech104 to find out what time we would be arriving. I will bring a canopy...just in case. Walaby 01-13-2010, 03:44 AM In order to crank up the excitement a bit, how bout we share what mods have been done that will show up on the dyno. Me - Only thing I've added is Cervini Ram Air and Predator tune. Im planning on first pull just the cervini, stock tune. Followed by 93 CAI tune pull. Last pull reserved for any changes that might be suggested. What is everyone else bringing to the party? No custom tune here, but wouldn't mind some "advice" on what kind of parameters in the pred should be adjusted in order to eek out a bit more performance. Looking forward to it! Mike BLACKBEAUTY 01-14-2010, 05:36 AM I'll be shopping Friday Morning for the food and drinks. We gonna have some fun!:woohoo: Don't forget to bring your chairs..... Joe RYAN@INJECTED 01-15-2010, 06:40 PM We look forward to a great day tomorrow, see you in the morning! Raydar 01-15-2010, 10:17 PM WOOHOOOO!!! My DSM registration was finally approved today. I look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. Ryan... Thanks for letting me squeeze in at the "11th hour". 'tis much appreciated. Mods? I deftly removed the front and bottom out of my air box, and have an SRT intake duct, if that counts. (WTH is up with that "muffler" on the R/T duct anyway? Who thought that that would be a good idea?) Not likely that it'll make any difference on the dyno, or in the real world for that matter. But it sounds a bit better. And let's not forget the "engine shroud delete". Guaranteed to be worth as much extra HP as a "Type R" sticker. :p In other words.. Box stock. But good for a baseline. I'll be quiet now. Walaby 01-15-2010, 10:27 PM Glad you'll be there. It will be good to see a bone stock on the dyno for a baseline. My first pull will be close, but Im not taking the Cervini system off just to get a baseline. If'n you didn't have enough of that baffle, I've got the other one in my trunk for you. Got the chairs packed, Predator stowed in car, washed her today (only to probably rain tomorrow). First chance in about two weeks. Looking forward to it. See y'all in the AM Mopar 01-16-2010, 12:48 AM Just wanted to drop in and wish all of ya'll great success on the dyno with your horsepower numbers and most important of all is just enjoy each others company and the love we have for our Mopars tomorrow. I'm stock aside from the Corsa (not sure what difference that will make). I plan to be there at about 9am - I won't be able to stay for too long (but will obviously wait for my turn in the line) - just hd a new arrival (daughter #2) so to keep wife happy (happy wife = happy life and green light for future planned mods ), best not stay out all day !!! See you tomorrow! Traincrafter 01-16-2010, 04:37 AM I am packed and ready. Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I am sure I am speaking for everyone that it was FUN...... And we learned some things along the way. I personally look forward to working with you in the future. Anyone who has not checked this shop out yet you should. Thanks again! Joe Walaby 01-17-2010, 12:01 AM Yup, I echo Joe's comments. Thanks to all of you for the great day. Very professionally run shop, professional equipment and great group of guys (even if I had to park under a MUSTANG). Was good to see you and Eddie again and meet some of the other guys. Learned alot - confirmed alot and just an overall great day even though it rained. Mike Donny Carlson 01-17-2010, 12:57 AM Glad you made it in, Raydar! Marcusk 01-17-2010, 02:15 AM Fun day indeed...really good quality shop / facilities...I can foresee that place taking a lot of my hard earned $ in the months to come...it took me all of 40 minutes this morning before the AMEX came out! Thanks again for organizing this.....would be interesting to book a return trip next year to see how our figures might change over 12 months.....just don't invite any white 6sps !! Marcus Jettech104 01-17-2010, 02:33 AM I would also like to thank Ryan,Erick, and his staff for a very professional job!!! I had a ton of fun!! Glad to see Joe,Kenny,Marcusk,Mike,Steve, and Jared!!! Brian for stopping by and showing us his awesome looking B5 Challenger!! I am in the processes of uploading some videos and pics. Will make a seperate thread with them!! Raydar 01-17-2010, 03:46 AM Yes! Great fun indeed! Thanks to Eddie, Joe and everyone else for the warm (albiet rainy) welcome, and thanks to Ryan and Company for hosting a heck of an event! This was more Challengers and Chargers than I've ever seen gathered together in one place. Truly some unique and beautiful vehicles, with lots of very nice custom touches. When I decide what I want to do (and what I can afford to spend) I'm definitely going back to Injected. (My wife said "You'd better get to work. They're going to be gunning for you." ;) Think I'll keep her. :D ) Mike... Thanks again for the pieces. I owe ya' a favor or two. I was going to post some pics, but I the ones I took are pretty poor. My camera didn't like the lighting. Hopefully a better photographer will post something soon. :) Walaby 01-17-2010, 04:06 AM Having an interesting discussion on challengertalk. I posted my results (and mentioned some others). Apparantly, unbeknownst to probably most of us, Auto's are having some "issues" on Dyno's. Apparantly the auto's are shifting into 5th gear and dropping off, resulting in less than anticipated results. Does anyone here know if the guys were running our Auto's in "auto stick mode" and if they stayed in 4th gear, or upshifted into 5th? Apparantly, the predator software version 9r21 has a dyno mode, that will keep it from upshifting too soon, allowing for a more accurate reading. I don't know enough to speak to it one way or another.. All I know is I had a blast and enjoyed meeting everyone. Here's the thread on challengertalk if you're interested. http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f37/interesting-dyno-day-me-anyways-31651/ Raydar 01-17-2010, 05:40 AM Mike, They were shifting. He wasn't letting off until after the shift. I remember because I wondered which gear they were being run in and shifting into. Is 4th gear 1:1 in the automatic cars? Regardless... Numbers or not, it's been proven repeatedly that automatics are quicker and more consistent going down the 1/4. And easier on the half-shafts, too. :D MOPAR78 01-17-2010, 01:51 PM New member here and a day late... I'll make the next one though. Raydar 01-19-2010, 01:32 AM New member here and a day late... I'll make the next one though. Welcome to our obsession! :D  BLACKBEAUTY 01-19-2010, 02:11 AM And we are OBSESSED.................LOL Had a great time Saturday. It was great seeing and meeting everyone. We are now even more confused......... I read the post on Challengertalk. Interesting. I'll be talking to Aric this week about the auto's vs the Sticks. It makes sense that the auto's will loose more through the tranny. Joe Walaby 01-19-2010, 03:48 AM Roger that.. Im sure that auto's would lose more than the 6sp. Interesting also is that someone else posted in the Dyno thread the following 347 to the rear wheels for me, 09 RT Classic w/ Kand N cai, Magnaflow exhaust, OBX racing long tubes, Predator tune. Granted, different dyno. But my best was 345 with stock exhaust, Cervini and predator tune. That would seem to imply that exhaust mods have little or no impact. The guy running our cars said as much as well. It's all interesting and does make for interesting conversation. Jettech104 01-19-2010, 05:09 AM Well I was not surprised with the numbers!!! My car was dead on with what I had figured. With just a Cai and the flowmasters installed my best was 349hp 364tq. These mods just help the car breath better and gives it a better sound then factory system!! Just my two cents worth!!!:old: jaredpharmd 01-19-2010, 05:26 PM Hey Joe-- did you get your braided line kit from BMC or elsewhere? I liked that. I was embarrassed to open my hood after looking at freakin' stairway to heaven and firewalls....LOL Jared BLACKBEAUTY 01-19-2010, 06:14 PM Yes I got them from BMC. You'll get there......Hang around us you'll need a second job.....LOL Joe Raydar 01-19-2010, 09:51 PM ... Hang around us you'll need a second job...
