I recently won a little money at the casinos and can't decide if I want an aftermarket radio with navigation or not. I saw the Pioneer avic f700 that has nav and controls my IPOD for around 450.00 then I'd have to buy a bezel. I also want a ported throttle body. Just trying to figure out which way to go. anyone have an Pioneer Avic????

I'm with Jay on this one. I had the dx5120 a couple years ago and I am getting the DNX6140 very soon. Very cool head unit with biult in Garmin GPS and bluetooth. And one of the best Ipod controllers out there. IMO.

Look it up and compare with the other head units available. It has a ton of features and growth capabilities to boot.

Go to a local stereo shop and compare the units for yourself. That is the best way to get a feel for what is out there.

I had an aftermarket radio with the nav in my car before it was broken into and stolen. I have had pioneers in the past and they are pretty good man. I only paid like $500 for it when it was on sale reg price was $850 so I couldnt pass that up. I also had to but the bezel got that of ebay for 50 bucks in perfect condition. So if you really want it I say go for man you wont be sorry.

I would say not to go cheap with a head unit regardless. If you have the money to get a good GPS unit than go with it but make sure its a good brand that is known for making GPS units. If you don't have enough money to go that way than certainly get a nice non- GPS unit. You can't go wrong with an Alpine. It's better to get an Alpine non-GPS head unit that will out live your car than to get a cheap GPS brand that may last you a year. If you find out that you really need a GPS then you can always get a Garmin for about $200. I have one and I love it. I put velcro on the back of mine and velcro in the drop down sunglasses case on the headliner and it makes it look like a custom GPS was installed.
