Commerce Georgia, Atlanta Raceway.
I can't believe I forgot to post this here, being as Mike Shultz has been carpet bombing the various forums about this event. SSHS is two events, a car show for show and shine and customs, and bracket racing/big dog racing. Anybody can run, and since it's bracket racings, it's how consistent your times are not how fast you go. They have buy-backs if you are eliminated. This started mostly as an Impala SS event, but now you see Mercury Marauders, MOPARS, even caddies and pontiacs. This is a competition, as my friend Marty says, for the Fat Girls, cars weighing 4,000 lbs with driver on board. The Heavyweights. I've been to three of these over the years, and it's a fun event. Living in the ATL, you can drive up Saturday morning, though there is a test and tune session on Friday. I've got leave for this, but won't know until Wednesday if I can be off, since I am in "waiting" status.

And here's a shot taken back at SSHS 5 when I went in what was then my 1 month old Chevy SSR. Yes, THAT one, the one that drove me batty with warranty issues...

This shot was taken at SSHS 6 when I had traded the SSR for a Harley Davidson F150. Last shot is a better shot of the Harley Truck for those interested.
