Joe

I wasn't sure what the difference was, so I registered for the competition part. I guess that means there will be categories, and you compete against others in your category. Show n Shine I guess you all compete as a group.

Wow, with those amazing stripes, you park next to me and nobody will even notice my car!:kap:

I'm off that weekend! I think I will enter the Show and Shine...gives me an excuse to clean and wax the car. Don't have any fancy stripes for a competition though:i_rolleyes:

Is this an annual event? Has anyone been? I went to the website, but they were super clear on the categories. Anyway, everyone in the ATL chapter should attend regardless!

-JaredHey Jared great to hear from you!! This is their first annual as the title implies. That is why I think that the details are a little vague. You don't need no stinking stripes to go but if you want Joe and I can point in Paul's (sign shop owner) direction!!! LOL:smileup: I agree that this type of charity event would be great to have everyone in the Atl chapter present!!!

Yeah, you can pay the day of. This is the first time for the event, so you have to give them some slack. They went to the trouble of putting up a website, so that says something. I got one of the flyers at C&O a couple months back.

I'm bringing my Mopar canopy so we can use it as HQ for those of us who want to park together. It would be cool to get Mopars to park in the same general area. I'm in the "contest" part of the show, so I don't think I'll be competition for the show and shine cars. Good news, too, because those black R/T's with those cool stripes will render my car invisible.:wow:

I have a couple of surprises to debute for the show. :Wow1:

The organizers of Rides for Racks sent me an email today to help get the word out that the location for the show has changed from Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta to the parking lot of Floor and Decor on Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, the address is 1200 Earnest W. Barrett Pkwy
Kennesaw, GA.

Just an FYI. So, now Joe is won't have far to go to take his winnings back home, eh?

Note Best Club Turnout. I emailed them to ask them to switch my affiliation to DSM-Atlanta from the BMOC, my local club. I am in the DSM, and I guess you could say I'm an honorary member of DSM-ATL. I just want DSM-ATL to get the count for my participation. I think the club has a shot at Best Club Turnout.

The location is even closer to me now--Sweet! Does it have to only be ATL members? I'll bet the Deep South Mopars would drive down-- surely they would count too? If anyone knows where the CarMax is on that corner, it is right across the street.

P.S. Do you think I'll get extra points for a baby seat in the back? LOL:kap:

It's about 4 or 5 miles from my house! I can do the slow ride home with my trophy sticking out the sun roof...............LOL

JK

I hope we get a bunch to show up. It will be fun and it's for a good cause.
I have a few friends that were diagnosed with Breast Cancer just this past year. That's no joke!

I just registered !! Looking forward to the show. Show and Shine only for me.

We should have a good showing from the Atlanta chapter.

I will try to bring my VW if I don't have to park it too far from the Dodge. :)

I put on my new ABS cover, and satnav cover, plus something to preview a project in the works under hood. The coolest new addition is this....

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o308/DonnyCarlson/Mark3830/DSCN0465.jpg?t=1257989523

I bought this show stand off of a Charger dude in Tennessee. He made it, painted it, used Lexan panels and added the Dodge emblem from a truck. The poster he keeps, and I have to get one made up. (Not in time for RfR, but I think I can whip up a temporary poster to get printed at FedEx Kinkos). It's used but looks great - saw it last week when I was over at his house.

I'll have my Hood liner finished. Picking it up Thursday.
I was thinking of some sort of poster Too.
That stand looks great Donny.

Before I bought this stand, I was leaning to this stand --

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o308/DonnyCarlson/TOPPICK1.jpg?t=1257996302

Which sells for $54, and uses two, 8.5 x 11 sheets or one 11x17 sheet.

Those could be printed out on most any color printer, or you could get Kinkos to print it out. I have the company name if interested.

The other I was looking at has a stand that's secured by you parking on the foot, has a metal base (powdercoated what color you want) and a plexiglas panel you can put your window sticker under, or other art. They also offer poster boards to replace the plexigas. These are $135 powdercoated.

What I liked was how you could further customize them with stripes, badges, etc. For example, you could put small red rally stripes on it, or an R/T badge, or whatever

The parking lot where it's being held has a IHOP there. It does get croweded on Sundays though.

There's also WENDY'S,ARBY'S,KFC,TACOBELL PIZZAHUT,
down the road is McDonald's or a Dunkin Donuts not to far.
